- Star Fruit Carambola Jam – Healing Tomato
Carambola, or star fruit, or Birambi is the fruit of Averrhoa carambola, a species of tree native to tropical Southeast Asia. The fruit is commonly consumed throughout Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, Micronesia, parts of East Asia, and the Caribbean. The tree is cultivated throughout tropical areas. Their colorful and unique shape catches my eye, but, I never thought of using them in any recipe. To me, they have always looked too exotic to be put into a recipe.

This is one of my go-to entertaining salads. It’s so easy to prep in advance, which means all you have to do is arrange the pears over a bed of field greens, and top with crumbled cheese and candied pecans. This Pear and Gorgonzola Salad is a variation of one that’s been served in a very popular local restaurant here in Pasadena for years.

- Fruit and Nut Salad with Berry Vinaigrette – Hezzi D’s
started with the crunch factor. I knew that nuts were allowed in a clean eating diet so I went to my cupboard to look for some. I had a bag of cashews and thought they would add a bit of texture and a hint of salt to the salad. Then I looked in the fruit bowl and saw both blood oranges and apples. I thought these would add great color and flavor to the salad. I finished the salad by looking in my veggie drawer and taking out a bell pepper and an onion.
- Cranberry Mimosa – Watch What U Eat
I am really obsessed with making homemade non-alcoholic drinks. Because this is my most favorite and preferred way of eating and enjoying fruits. Who on the earth will not love fresh fruits in the form of gorgeous and delicious drinks like pineapple mojito, peach lemonade, strawberry sangria, and this cranberry mimosa, etc.
- Caramel Apple Protein Smoothie – Recipes Worth Recipe
I also can’t handle the blood sugar crash anymore either. That’s why this smoothie has a big dose of protein, healthy fat, and fiber, to create a more stable blood sugar response. It will satisfy all your caramel apple cravings and provide nutrients at the same time. Grown-up win!
- Autumn Kale Salad – Gluten Free Homestead
This salad has two of my favorite fruits: apples and pomegranates which are easily found during the autumn. Apples are great no matter the season. You can read about some of the health benefits of apples. Pomegranate seeds are a powerful superfood. Read about them here. They are loaded with antioxidants and phytochemicals that protect heart and brain health.
