The Hampton Inn Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra Beach-Mayo Clinic Area is a gem of a hotel (located at 1220 Marsh Landing Parkway). During our recent mother-daughter weekend in Jacksonville, FL we had the opportunity to stay, and it made for a wonderful home base for our adventures. The Hampton Inn Jacksonville is newly renovated, and it showed throughout the hotel. It was incredibly relaxing and comfortable, especially after a long day of exploring everything beautiful Jacksonville has to offer.
We had been planning this visit for a while, but since my daughter goes to school out of state, it got re-scheduled a few times. We finally made it happen! Jacksonville is a big city in northeastern Florida where the St. John’s River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Filled with lots of museums and cultural offerings. Swimming and surfing are popular at nearby beaches such as Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach. With Championship golf courses in the area of Ponte Vedra Beach.
Hampton Inn Jacksonville – The Perfect Getaway Hub
One thing I need in a hotel above all else is proximity. While I love a good road trip, I love my road trip to end when I reach my destination. There’s nothing worse than staying at a hotel that’s far away from everything. You don’t have to worry about that with this hotel. It’s conveniently located near almost everything you’d ever want to visit in the city. It’s just minutes from both Mayo Clinic and Jacksonville beach and is in close proximity to downtown and major highways. In fact, it’s quite near attractions like TPC Sawgrass Golf Course, the Jacksonville Beach Boardwalk, Jacksonville Fishing Pier, St. John’s Town Center, and all the shopping you could ask for.
The Hampton Inn Jacksonville offers a comfortable room at a reasonable price, and I really love that. As my long-time readers know, I’m devoted to finding deals. I’m not limited to just finding groceries deals, I’m all about great prices on everything, including hotels. That’s another reason I love this hotel. It’s priced right, in a great location and it’s comfortable and attractive.
We loved the space our room had. There was more than enough for both of us to feel cozy and comfortable and NOT crowded. With comfortable beds and a big desk, the room offers lots of space. In addition, they’re wonderfully decorated to give a warm, inviting feel. These rooms aren’t sterile and empty, rather, they have warm colors and attractive furniture to give a feeling of coming back to a refuge after a long day. Rooms also have a mini-fridge and microwave so you can bring along your own snacks to enjoy in your room.
Amenities and Services
The Hampton Inn Jacksonville also offers great amenities. Among many here are a few:
- For Your Business Convenience, they offer free printing, meeting rooms and so much more so you can take care of business while away (Like me!).
- Complimentary shuttle to Mayo Clinic from 7 am to 6 pm
- Complimentary Manager’s reception with Beer, Wine & Snacks Monday through Thursday
- If you are traveling with kids they offer high chairs and other services to please the entire family.
- They are mindful of the little things and those things that turn an ordinary hotel stay into an extraordinary such as baggage storage, beverage area with complimentary coffee, tea, water.
- Multi-lingual staff, Digital Key, Laundry/Valet Service, luggage Hold
- Every guest receives complimentary hot breakfast
- A fitness center, coin laundry, and a laundry valet service!
We were impressed by the proximity of the hotel to so many great dining spots, no matter what you were craving for! You don’t want to miss sampling some of the freshest seafood at local spots right on the beach, downtown Jacksonville with super trendy neighborhood pockets with popular local eats. The city is known for both craft brewery as well as the food truck scene. We came back to the hotel after a wonderful meal at Two Dude’s Seafood Restaurant – where we both ate a bit more than we should have – and it was so nice to get back to our hotel and just relax as we recovered from a day of sightseeing and great eating.
Even though the Hampton Inn Jacksonville is not far from the gorgeous 22 miles of white sand beaches, the pool is a place I love to go an unwind. We spent a few hours at the pool just hanging out and really enjoyed the shade, honestly, it was a tranquil escape.
Hampton Inn Jacksonville is a Winner
My daughter and I couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn Jacksonville more. With comfortable rooms, great amenities, and a staff that was one of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered, Hampton Inn Jacksonville made for a wonderful vacation hub. If you’re headed to the Jacksonville area, I highly recommend this hotel. You won’t find a better hotel for the price. It’s a great hotel and a great deal.
Jacksonville is a great port for cruises. Pack your swimsuits and get ready for fun by boarding one of the Carnival Cruise Lines that leaves from the port for the Bahamas. It’s easy to get to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Airport offers inbound flights from across the U.S.
