This beautiful SUV packs a major punch of power along with a ton of space, excellent gas mileage thanks to being a hybrid, and of course, that great Highlander styling. It’s the perfect combination of form and function, and I’m so happy I was able to experience it. Buckle up and get ready to embark on a thrilling ride through the realm of automotive brilliance!

2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Bronze Edition Has It All

I took this SUV to Sebring, Florida for the weekend to attend the SODA Festival. I also stopped in Lake Wells, Lake Placid, Winter Haven, and Avon Park. This beautiful beast did not disappoint on any level throughout the trip.

The drive was so comfortable thanks to its memory seating, the 4 USB ports and the wireless phone charger meant I was never worried about running out of juice, and the ride was so smooth. The 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Bronze Edition is definitely one amazing ride.

Massive Interior Space

When you look at most SUVs of this size, you automatically wonder just how much space they have on the inside. To some people, a mid-size SUV is not viable because of the perceived limited space.

The designers of the Highlander must have known this because they really took advantage of every inch of space in this vehicle. When you open the doors and the trunk, you’ll be surprised by just how much space the Highlander has.

I was able to fit myself, my (husband, my family? not sure who went), and all of our luggage with room to spare! We had everything we needed including legroom and no crowding. That lets me know that you can put pretty much anything you’d ever need to in this SUV. The space is great!

Sleek and Mean (In a Good Way)

The exterior styling of the 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Bronze Edition is equal parts sleek, smooth lines, and just the right amount of aggressive styling.

The smooth lines running down the side of the vehicle’s rear quarter panel and doors create a feeling of sleekness and movement, while the headlights almost look like angry – or at least, slightly annoyed – eyes. It’s a little bit like a family SUV and a sports car were sandwiched together in the best possible mashup. It’s the kind of SUV that says, “Get in. We’re going on a Florida adventure!”

SUV Power Without SUV Mileage

This bad boy has a ton of space and impressive torque. With that combination of towing power and interior space – and owing to the fact that it’s an SUV – the gas mileage is absolutely amazing.

This beautiful beast gets 35 miles per gallon. That’s more than a lot of cars! I’ve driven SUVs before on trips, and I was so annoyed with how often I had to stop and how much I had to pay for gas.

The 2022 Toyota Highlander got me farther on one tank of gas than some cars I’ve driven, and I only spent $35 in a week and I drove from Daytona to Sebring, then Daytona to St. Augustine! You do the math.

Great Modern Amenities

This hybrid has all the bells and whistles when it comes to safety and convenience. As a digital content creator, I always need to stay connected, and the 4 USB ports and Qi-compatible wireless charger helped keep me fully charged at all times. It, of course, has Bluetooth, as well.

I’m also in love with the large touchscreen control panel that features easy touch navigation for all the interior features and the hands-free liftgate trunk. Last but not least is the Safety Sense 2.5 safety technology used with this vehicle. It’s the most advanced system Toyota is ever offered which gave me an added sense of security knowing that I was protected on the road.

It also features SofTex, a synthetic leather that offers the look and feels of leather with improved breathability and cooling, along with a fabric insert. That means you get the look of leather without the sticky seat!

Front-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive

The 2022 Highlander Bronze Edition gets a grip on the road with a choice of FWD or a unique AWD system for Highlander Hybrid grades.

AWD system employs a separate rear-mounted electric motor to power the rear wheels when needed. Like the hybrid powertrain itself, the AWD is designed to work seamlessly and transparently.

AWD is a great traction partner, but it’s not needed all the time, such as during steady highway cruising. In these situations, torque is not distributed to the rear axle. When the system detects that AWD is needed, it instantly re-engages the rear axle.

From an engine that delivers a surprising amount of power for a 4-cylinder hybrid to tons of interior space, elegant and aggressive styling, and all the amenities and safety features you’d expect and require in a modern vehicle. The 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Bronze Edition delivers everything you’d expect and then some.

I thoroughly enjoyed the smooth ride, the surprisingly few stops for gas, all the interior space, and the center control panel complete with a charging station.
