St Francis Inn is located in the restored historic district of St Augustine, Florida, the nation’s oldest city and a block away from the Oldest House! Situated in the center of the oldest part of the city, this beautiful bed and breakfast inn is rich with history. Built in 1791, St Francis Inn has seen centuries come and go, and its design and antique vibe reflect that. Visitors don’t step too far back into time, though. In spite of its age and old-world feel, the inn features all the modern amenities that travelers want. It’s important to point out that it’s on the National Register of Historic Places.
I had the chance to stay at this beautiful inn, whose first owner was the Spaniard, Gaspar Garcia. What an amazing experience! We were treated to lovely experiences and a luxurious stay at the inn.
St Francis Inn
When you step into the inn, you can feel the history of centuries all around you. Its unique architectural design means that no room in the entire structure has a right angle. All 13 rooms have angled corners, and each one features its own unique design and flair. The parlor is welcoming and the entire inn gives a general feeling of warmth and invitation that made me feel right at home.
Rooms range from large accommodations like the Garcia Suite, which features a sitting room and separate bathroom with a whirlpool tub to smaller rooms like Maria’s Room which features a door that leads directly to the courtyard of the inn. My room was the Anna. It’s one of the smallest rooms at the Inn located on the second floor. It has a modern shower and with easy access to the second-floor balcony with these beautiful rocking chairs, and a view of the garden, and the fountain.
The courtyard is GORGEOUS! The perfect oasis to unwind. A koi pond such a charming attraction and all the trees, ranging from bougainvillea to the most colorful tropical flowers providing so much shade. A great place to start your day off with some the Inn’s delicious breakfast! Around the corner from the courtyard is the Inn’s inground temperature-controlled swimming pool and the cutest secluded areas.
I particularly enjoyed the friendly staff and food offered by St Francis Inn. The people were always eager to help and exceptionally friendly, and the food blew me away.
