With the hot summer season still, why not spice things up with this Clamato Michelada drink recipe? It will guarantee to continue planning gatherings and enjoying summer moments with your family. There’s something great about gathering with family and friends around a grilled meal with fresh beverages. Enjoying the summer season is my favorite thing to do. I enjoy the warmer weather and making memories with my family and friends. Today, I wanted to share a refreshing beverage option that works well when hosting a BBQ or sitting down to enjoy a sweet summer moment with your spouse.
I experimented with creating a Clamato® Michelada drink using Clamato Tomato Cocktail. The results were delicious. A Clamato Michelada is one of the most popular drinks in Mexico. It is a beer-based cocktail with hot sauce, lime, Worcestershire sauce, and of course Clamato Tomato Cocktail Juice. You will find my recipe listed below, but for now, let’s chat more about Clamato.

What is Michelada?
The Michelada is simply a way to spice up beer. From the hot sauce to the beer, you can customize the entire drink to whatever your taste is. It can be compared to a Bloody Mary. The secret to obtaining a great Michelada is by taking it easy on each of the ingredients and adding more as needed to create a balance that fits your particular taste. Many people enjoy this cocktail alone but it’s more popularly used as a mixer. Clamato is becoming more popular in the United States but has been widely accepted in Canada and Mexico for many years.

Since this is a Mexican-themed recipe, I personally think that a Michelada recipe should be made with a Mexican beer, such as Modelo (which I used), Pacífico, Tecate, or Corona. I don’t recommend replacing it with a non-Mexican beer.
Be extra cautious with the spicy sauces. There are lots of different varieties of hot sauces that take the spice to an extreme of this thirst-quenching drink. Also, it’s important to know the difference between Chelada and Michelada
