Disclosure: This post is part of my all expense paid trip to Los Angeles, CA provided by Disney, in exchange for coverage. However, opinions are 100% mine.
As I previously warned you, Mary Poppins Returns! Disney is bringing back our favorite nanny! It isn’t really surprising that Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns was nominated for four Golden Globes. I was able to watch the premiere of this film and was blown away at how well the cast recreated a timeless classic. Mary Poppins Returns will hit theaters on December 19th and today I’m going to share my thoughts about the film and highly recommend you go experience this film in theaters for yourself.
It honestly doesn’t surprise me that Emily Blunt was nominated for Best Actress in this film. She’s truly a perfect fit for her role as Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns. Emily Blunt helps make this film a feel good, family movie that everyone should experience this holiday season!
Mary Poppins Returns tells the story of her return to a new generation of Banks children. Basically, Mary Poppins will show this new generation of the Banks family, unconditional love, after they’ve experienced a loss. This is such a good storyline because most of us can relate to having a similar experience or know someone who has in our life at some point.
When you experience Mary Poppins Returns in theaters you’ll notice the amazing, vintage style costumes of not only Mary Poppins but all of the actors. One cool fact about the film is that at one point all of the costumes were hand painted onto the actors to bring them into the animated world – this was genius! All costumes were made from scratch by the award-winning costume designer, Sandy Powell, who really did an awesome job bringing these characters costumes to life.
In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all-new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London. Talk about a perfect fit for these roles!
