Disney Magic Kingdom – 4 Parks to Enjoy Even Without Kids
The theme parks at Walt Disney World offer very different experiences. Recently I attended a press trip that and got to see first-hand how very different, and yet very similar, all four Walt Disney World theme parks are. From the Magic Kingdom to Epcot, Walt Disney World has everything for everyone – even for us adults to enjoy without the kids!
Theme Parks for Magic Lover, Hollywood Lovers, and More
As part of this amazing event, we got a chance to enjoy the park and check out all the great entertainment offerings that Walt Disney World has. As a long time Disney fan, I already knew about these, but for the uninitiated, there’s a lot to take in. The best part is that although Disney is known for being a child’s dream, there is a ton to do for grown-ups, too!
Magic Kingdom Park
This is the most recognizable of the theme parks for most people. The Magic Kingdom features all the Disney characters and settings we know and love. You can see your favorite Disney characters working their way through the crowds. You can see Cinderella’s Castle. You can go on great rides. And while you’re there, DO NOT forget to get yourself a Dole Whip. You can only get it at Magic Kingdom Park. And I mean only. It’s not available in stores. When visiting Magic Kingdom Park without kids, don’t forget to hit the faster rides and enjoy your surroundings without the frantic race to see your child’s favorite characters.
Big Thunder Mountain is a ride perfect for grown-ups at the park. It’s fast and fun, but not scary. So if you’re kid-free, but you’re not a 4 G coaster kind of person, Big Thunder Mountain is a must-see.
Another great stop at the Magic Kingdom for any age is It’s a Small World. Although geared towards kids, it’s an iconic ride that’s a must for anyone visiting this most famous of Disney theme parks. It was one of the very first rides!
ARRG, Matey! If ye be lovin’ pirates, then you’ll be best served to visit Pirates of the Caribbean. These are some of my favorite films from Disney, and this boat ride captures the feel of the films perfectly.
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is another must stop while you’re at the Magic Kingdom. It’s relatively new, so you’ll want a FastPass. This is another ride that focuses on the magic of Disney, and it’s perfect for adults!
Last but not least on the list of things that are a ton of fun at the Magic Kingdom are the parades. Even if you don’t have kids with you, the parades at the Magic Kingdom are wonderful. They’ll make YOU feel like a kid again.
Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Animal Kingdom
While the Magic Kingdom is the most well-known park, Disney has other great theme parks, as well. In addition to the Magic Kingdom, there’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. All of these are absolutely perfect for trips with kids because you can really take your time. Whether you take in all the diversity of the world with Epcot, dive into the excitement of Hollywood Studios, or go on a wild adventure at Animal Kingdom, these theme parks offer an experience that’s great with kids and absolutely amazing without.
Make the Most of the Theme Parks
Taking in the magic of Disney while kid-free doesn’t mean you just walk in. Oh no. You still need to take steps to make the most of your trip. All of these tips hold true for all the theme parks at Disney World.
Even without children, FastPass is your friend. Waiting in line is no fun, even without kids. So get that FastPass, it pays to have! We were fortunate to have VIP Fastpasses, so lines were not an issue. It lets you get into popular attractions, meets your favorite characters, and more and you can do it quickly.
Get a Good Spot
If you’re into parades, you’ll want to give yourself plenty of time to get a good spot. Look for shade whenever possible. The Florida sun is hot, so don’t wait until the last minute unless you want to bake out there!
Remember the Dole Whip I mentioned earlier? Get it! It’s only available at ONE of Disney World’s theme parks – the Magic Kingdom. You can’t find it anywhere else, and it is a treat not to be missed
Stay at a Disney Resort Hotel
If you truly want to make the most of your trip, stay at a Disney Resort hotel. These hotels make relaxing after a day of visiting Disney’s theme parks so wonderful AND magical. Even the resort hotels feature Disney touches like cutely folded towels and a distinct Disney flair to the design.
Theme Parks, Dole Whip, and More
Walt Disney World is second to none. With all of the amazing theme parks, they offer in one place, you’ll have all the fun you can handle. Just remember not to overdo it! Unless you plan on taking a month-long vacation, you’ll never be able to see everything in these theme parks. That’s okay. You can just come back again. That’s what I do. 😉
