Gourmet S’mores so delicious! Some of my earliest childhood memories are spending time around the campfire as a family, toasting that perfectly golden brown marshmallow over the glowing coals and sandwiching it between graham crackers with milk chocolate. This combination, the S’more, is one of the most defining flavors and experiences. This seasonal classic has been bringing families, like mine, together for decades!
Gourmet S’mores Buffet and Milk Chocolate
While the classic S’more is still one of our favorites, our family loves to get creative with food and enjoy what we call Gourmet S’mores. We grab a bag of Jet-Puffed Marshmallows, a couple of boxes of our favorite Honey Maid Graham Crackers like honey and chocolate flavors, and a variety of milk chocolate candy bars. Everyone can make a unique S’more combination of their very own.
Create a Gourmet S’mores Buffet for your next get together and bring your family and friends together to create a new twist on the traditional S’more!
Supplies:
- Honey Maid Graham Crackers or Nilla Wafers – a variety is great!
- Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
- Hershey’s Milk Chocolate candy bars or whatever your preference is – we like Kit Kat, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, York Peppermint Pattie, and Milk Chocolate with Almonds. Who am I kidding? We love all of the chocolate candy bars!
- Simple wooden skewers or marshmallow roasting forks – to avoid burns, which is super important.
- The perfect campfire coals for marshmallow roasting or heat fuel cans
Instructions:
Cut or break the candy bars into perfect S’more sizes. Set up your gourmet buffet in a safe, and comfortable area, we chose our backyard, arrange the chocolate bars on a plate or platter. We chose a 3 tier collapsible plate rack.
- Break the graham crackers in half and arrange them on a plate or platter.
- Pour the marshmallows onto a plate or platter.
- Display the platters on your table or place plates on a tiered plate stand.
Let everyone pick their favorite chocolate bar and favorite graham cracker variety to create the perfect s’more. Encourage family and friends to grab a stick, a marshmallow, and head to the fire to roast it. S’mores are a treat that you can have just about any time rain or shine, in the winter or hot summer. With indoor s’mores you still get that gooey marshmallow, melted chocolate, crunchy graham cracker which everyone will love and indulge on.
For those of you outdoorsy people, this would make good camping food. It is, after all, the ultimate camping treat and tastes great after a day hiking or fishing. You can also have it any time of the year by simply toasting the marshmallows in the oven for a few minutes.
Sit back and admire the gooey, sticky, chocolate smudged faces of those you love as new memories and traditions are made!
Why are S’mores called a S’more?
Do you have any idea why a S’more is called a S’more? No one actually knows for sure who invented the campfire graham cracker sandwich,” however, the first published recipe for “some mores” was in a 1927 publication called Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts. Loretta Scott Crew, who made them for Girl Scouts by the campfire, is given credit for the recipe. When you have that toasty marshmallow and melted chocolate all sandwiched together between graham crackers (or whatever you choose) wouldn’t, you ask for more?

You are right, any season!
This is a good idea to have a s’mores buffet. I will suggest this to my cousin who will be hosting our annual family Christmas get-together. I am sure the kids will thank him immensely for it.
That would be perfect!
