Disclosure: This post is part of my media visit to Hollywood Studios Florida provided by Disney, in exchange for coverage. However, typos, misspelled words and opinions are 100% mine.
Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studiosatractions, are a must see! Are you a huge fan of Disney as I am? I recently attended a media event at Disney World to check out their new ride, Toy Story Land and they really outdid themselves with this new attraction. Toy Story Land is a fabulous addition. I’m going to tell you all about it. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil the fun, while you’ll learn more about Toy Story Land below, there’ll be much more to explore beyond what I share today when you visit Disney World’s new attraction Toy Story Land with your family.
Tim Allen attended the grand opening event; you know the voice beyond Buzz Lightyear? Yes, indeed. This grand opening event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was certainly a fantastic time. It was something else to see Time Allen next to Buzz to announce Toy Story Land’s grand opening.
The concept behind Toy Story Land is that guests become toys. Yes, just like in the Toy Story movies. When you venture into Toy Story Land you’ll be greeted as a toy, “welcome Toys” and everything in Toy Story Land is larger than life. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to Andy’s backyard where the toy soldiers are on guard for Andy, who by the way isn’t at Toy Story Land. You’ll be able to see his larger than life footprints as you venture around the land though, which is pretty surreal since you’re a “toy”, the footprints are rather large in size.
The Slinky Dog Rollercoaster
This is a rollercoaster ride that isn’t too scary but provides enough twists and turns for the average tween and adult rollercoaster fan. You’ll notice a whole lot of Toy Story themes when on The Slinky Dog rollercoaster ride, and you’ll even be welcomed with Candy Land statues at the opening gate. The wait time can be long, so you’re best to get your hands on a Fastpass+ before going here.
Alien Swirling Saucers
Remember the playset that Andy won at Pizza Planet? Well, the Alien Swirling Saucers is exactly that prize set. You’ll be able to enjoy space music as your rocket takes off for a spinning, twirling adventure. This ride is similar in style to the Tea Cups type ride, with a claw that you must watch out for while enjoying this attraction.
Toy Story Mania
Lastly, is Toy Story Mania which isn’t a new addition to Disney but has been slightly updated. The entrance is now located inside of Toy Story Land so that this attraction completes the new area at Disney. You’ll also find a third track added that will bring out your competitive side. There is no height or age requirement for this ride. You’ll surely enjoy this attraction with your entire family.
You can wrap up your day in Toy Story Land with a quick bite to eat at Woody’s Lunchbox. You can order breakfast, lunch or dinner using Disney mobile for faster service, or simply drop in to order a bite to eat when you start feeling hungry in Toy Story Land. They offer some unique options such as “Totchos” that are tater tots with chili, cheese and other unique toppings over them.
While walking around Toy Story Land keep your eyes out for a chance to meet Buzz Lightyear or Jessie. Character meet and greets happen quite frequently here and will make your day even more special. If you don’t get a chance to grab a photo with a real-life character from Toy Story, have no fear, there are many photo opportunities throughout Toy Story Land with the larger than life toy soldiers, and other character statues found here.
Since Toy Story Land just recently opened, you know that lines are long. I suggest getting a fast pass or visit at nighttime when fewer kids are around.
Before leaving the park, feel free to stop by a toy kiosk to grab yourself some Toy Story Land merchandise to remember your experience here. Toy Story Land is truly an amazing experience that allows any adult to get back in touch with their inner child. I invite you to visit this new attraction at Disney World and let me know what you think.
